One Unforgettable Meeting…

There are no words to explain how thrilled we were as we read an email asking if we would be free on the 10th of July for a courtesy call meeting..a meeting with the Ambassador of the Philippines here in UK. We have previously introduced ourselves and told them what we do on an email although we weren’t really expecting that we will get a reply at all as we know that they are terribly busy. There are certainly hundreds and hundreds of important things to give attention to than a “cake”…but we are so happy that the Ambassador has kindly given  us a few hours of his busy day.

We prepared some flower buttercream cupcakes and a small cake for them to feast on. We chose Neustadt’s Tiffany Collection – Peony as inspiration for the cake design…carefully hand-painted every single detail.

And the day has come and we are all ready. The cake was on a special window cake box so everyone who saw it said “WOW” and some asked if it was a cake. Haha
We finally arrived. We felt mixed emotions as we patiently wait for the meeting to start. Eeeek!

And then he entered the conference room.. Ambassador Renato Manalo came inside wearing a nice smile and shook our hands. Two Consulates Bernadette Fernandez and Myla Macahilig were also present at the meeting. We started sharing stories and told him about our interest to support any of their upcoming events whenever they would need a cake. He has mentioned a couple of things that we got really excited about. One of which will be cupcakes for the primary school children from Ireland who are coming to the Embassy to meet and support the Philippine team.

It was a short and nice meeting. Everyone was so warm and very accommodating. It ended with a picture taking session and cake-tasting. We are just truly happy that they all expressed how yummy our cakes were.
